Emilie Chamaillard was born and raised in Kirkland Lake. After graduating from École Secondaire Jean-Vanier as valedictorian of her class, Emilie attended the University of Ottawa, where she completed a Bachelor of Arts with a specialization in Ethics and a minor in Communication. After completing her B.A., Emilie attended the Faculty of Law at the University of Ottawa, where she had the privilege of completing her Juris Doctor degree in both French and English. During her time in Ottawa, Emilie assisted the Faculty of Law’s recruitment team, participated in various moots, volunteered with the Association des juristes d’expression française de l’Ontario as well as continuing to support her hometown through volunteer work with the Kirkland Lake Golf Club, the Christmas Wish Foundation and the Kirkland Lake Festivals Committee. Upon graduating cum laude from the Faculty of Law in 2013, Emilie returned to her hometown to complete her articles with Richard-Gorman & Associates and to serve her community. Emilie was called to the Ontario Bar in June 2014. Emilie continues to be an active volunteer in her community. Emilie is the first female President of the Kirkland Lake Golf Club, is a director of the Kirkland Lake Festivals Committee, and continues to volunteer with the Christmas Wish Foundation. Emilie is a legal panel member of the Office of the Children’s Lawyer, representing children in child protection and custody and access matters. Her other areas of practice include family law, real estate, civil litigation, and wills and estates. In 2016, Richard-Gorman & Associates promoted Emilie and she became a partner in the firm. Accordingly, the firm was renamed Richard & Chamaillard Law.
