Emilie Chamaillard was born and raised in Kirkland Lake. After graduating from École Secondaire Jean-Vanier as valedictorian of her class, Emilie attended the University of Ottawa, where she completed a Bachelor of Arts with a specialization in Ethics and a minor in Communication. After completing her B.A., Emilie attended the Faculty of Law at the University of Ottawa, where she had the privilege of completing her Juris Doctor degree in both French and English. Upon graduating cum laude from the Faculty of Law in 2013, Emilie returned to her hometown to complete her articles with Richard-Gorman & Associates, and to serve her community. Emilie was called to the Ontario Bar in June 2014.
Emilie continues to be an active volunteer in her community. Emilie is the first female President of the Kirkland Lake Golf Club, is a director of the Kirkland Lake Festivals Committee, and continues to volunteer with the Christmas Wish Foundation. Emilie is a member of the Timiskaming Law Association, where she serves as the Family Law Representative. Emilie has been a legal panel member of the Office of the Children’s Lawyer since 2017, representing children in child protection and custody and access matters. Her other areas of practice include real estate, municipal law, civil litigation, and wills and estates. In 2016, Richard-Gorman & Associates promoted Emilie and she became a partner in the firm. Accordingly, the firm was renamed Richard & Chamaillard Law. Emilie’s previous partner, Justice Julie Richard, was named to the bench in 2022, at which time the firm was renamed Chamaillard Law.
